It is not going to be an easy task, with the India story having lost some of the lustre lately, and a dip in growth rate, the growth of 7.8% in first quarter this year was the lowest in five quarters. From an international investor's perspective, despite relatively strong fundamentals, there's a long list of worrisome issues. That includes an inflation that continues to linger. The immediate reaction of the private sector to RBI decision to increase interest rates has not been positive. The unending saga of high-profile corruption cases, which have dented the image of the government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh , is another one.

The Maoist menace in the state has been a cause of concern in international circles, especially after the blast aimed at Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's convoy on the day he had gone to Salboni in West Midnapore to lay the foundation for the JSW steel plant in November 2008. The failed attempt by the Maoists to assassinate Bhattacharjee led to police arrests and the subsequent Lalgarh movement. It took joint forces operations to somewhat curb the Maoist menace for now. In the past couple of years not a single FDI venture has come in. The last major US investment in Bengal was PepsiCo's Frito-Lay food processing plant in 2004.

NEWARK, N.J. – At auditions filmed Thursday before a live audience for "The X Factor," Simon Cowell seemed to want people to move on from the shakeup on the show's judges panel replacing British pop singer Cheryl Cole with American counterpart Nicole Scherzinger. "It wasn't really such a big deal as everybody thought. ... Truth is you've got to move on. It's about the contestants. They've got no interest in us bickering," Cowell said at the auditions in New Jersey. Earlier in the week, Fox and producers announced Cole was out and Scherzinger, who originally was signed on to co-host the show, would slide over to the judges table alongside Cowell, Paula Abdul and LA Reid.

NEW DELHI: The Anna Hazare camp cried foul on Friday claiming that the government was offering concessions to Baba Ramdev that they had already agreed to in the drafting committee meetings. At least two demands — including setting up of special courts and a public services delivery Act — were issues that the government representatives had already agreed to in the joint drafting committee, they said.

Visit http://geicoinsuranceproducts.wordpress.com/ for GEICO Insurance Products News / Reviews.

Speaking on the issue after the "concessions" were announced, civil society member on the panel Arvind Kejriwal said, "The government is misleading us." He argued that in the meeting on May 30, the government had agreed to the concept of a citizens charter and that violation of citizens charter would be deemed to be corruption at some stage of upscaling of a grievance. "In fact, the government has pushed deadlines further by saying that it will bring the public services delivery Act in a year. In our meeting, the citizens charter would be effective immediately," he said. The provision in the proposed Lokpal bill says that "it shall have the powers to recommend, on an annual basis, the number of special courts required under section 4 of Prevention of Corruption Act, to ensure that the trial in any case is completed in less than a year".
