WASHINGTON - U.S. authorities have interviewed Osama bin Laden's widows and are also examining video of the assault on his hideout in Pakistan to try to piece together details of his life on the run as well as the raid that killed him.

After days of wrangling with Pakistani leaders, U.S. intelligence officials were finally given access to the three widows who were with bin Laden in his compound and were taken into custody by Pakistan after his death, Pentagon officials said Friday. A U.S. official also said, citing documents seized by Navy SEALs from the compound, that bin Laden had wanted to kill President Obama and other senior U.S. officials.
