NEW YORK – The actor badly hurt at the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" plans to go back to the show this week — as a spectator.

More about elastic straps here.

A spokesman for the show says Christopher Tierney hopes to attend Friday's show, 2 1/2 weeks after he fell 35 feet in front of a shocked audience when his safety harness failed.

See elastic strap supplier website.

Tierney suffered a fractured skull, a fractured shoulder blade, four broken ribs and three broken vertebrae. He says he hopes to return to the "Spider-Man" stage when he feels strong enough.
