NEW DELHI: PM Manmohan Singh has often been accused of playing up to the US but on Monday, during his press conference to mark the first anniversary of UPA-2, it was perhaps for the first time that he was directly asked by the media about having allegedly ignored national interest in the pursuit of his "pro-America" stand. A phlegmatic Singh replied that his only agenda was to serve India to the best of his ability.

A phlegmatic Singh replied that his only agenda was to serve India to the best of his ability. "Well, I am working only to an agenda which, I believe, serves India to the best of my ability. I don't think there is anything that I can say on this matter. It is for the people of India to decide," Singh said.
