WASHINGTON: The United States said on Friday that it was “too premature” to talk about the extradition to India of David Coleman Headley, a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative charged with criminal conspiracy in the Mumbai terror attacks.

“Obviously, we do have an extradition treaty with India, but how that will work… going forward, I think that’s premature,” Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P.J. Crowley told reporters. He was responding to a question about Home Secretary G.K.
