Too premature to talk about Headley's extradition: US - Hindu

WASHINGTON: The United States said on Friday that it was “too premature” to talk about the extradition to India of David Coleman Headley, a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative charged with criminal conspiracy in the Mumbai terror attacks.

“Obviously, we do have an extradition treaty with India, but how that will work… going forward, I think that’s premature,” Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs P.J. Crowley told reporters. He was responding to a question about Home Secretary G.K. Pillai’s statement in New Delhi that India would seek the extradition of Headley, who was arrested by the FBI in October on the charge of plotting terrorist attacks in India and Denmark.
