India copper edges higher on US data, rupee - Reuters India

MUMBAI, July 28 (Reuters) - India's copper futures edgedhigher on Tuesday on investor optimism about an early economicrecovery after overnight U.S. data, and supported by a weakrupee, analysts said.

The most-active August contract MCCQ9 was 0.48 percenthigher at 271.45 rupees per kg at 10:07 a.m., after gaining 1percent in the previous three sessions. "Copper may inch up today on the back of overnight U.S.home sales data," said Aurobinda Prasad, deputymanager-research with Karvy Comtrade.
